Paul VornHagen is an accomplished jazz saxophonist, flutist, and vocalist who has won Detroit Music Awards on three separate occasions: Best jazz reeds, TDWR and Best instrumentalist. Paul was nominated in two categories: Best Album ( ' 99 and '02) and Best Jazz vocalist.

Living in Ann Arbor, MI, Paul has performed in many different venues including the Detroit metropolitan area,Toledo, Chicago, Cincinnati, New York City, San Francisco, West Hollywood(CA), Paris and southern France. His 2014 recording is called "In Our Own Way" w/Gary Schunk, Randy Marsh and Kurt Krahnke. All instrumental session featuring 2 Brubeck songs and 2 Original compositions w/other choice standards. The 2004 recording, KINDRED SPIRITS, features Paul's versatility and refined tone on tenor, soprano, alto saxes as well as flute and four vocals (in the tradition of Chet Baker).

When performing in jazz clubs and concerts, Paul usually is accompanied by piano, bass and drums. As a private teacher, Paul has taught at the Northville Center for Music and Art for 10 years. In October '02, Paul traveled to Paris and performed with French vibraphonist Dany Doriz and guitarist, Marc Fosset (formerly with Stefan Grappelli) as a guest soloist. Paul has performed in concert halls in Chicago, Oklahoma, throughout Michigan and numerous jazz festivals.
